Lessons

You can view the lessons users can take as well as disable individual lessons. To view the list of lessons, click Lessons. The Lessons window appears.

The Lessons page displays the lessons grouped by beginner, intermediate, advanced, specialty, and news headlines lessons.


Viewing Exercises
To view an exercise, click View Exercises next to the exercise you want to see. The exercise appears in a popup window.

When you have finished viewing the exercise, click Close Window.

    To view a lesson:
  1. Click Lessons. The Lessons page appears.
  2. Click View Exercises next to the lesson you want to see. A popup window appears containing the lesson.


Enabling and Disabling Lessons
Administrator Only Function You can enable and disable lessons. Users will not be able to access a lesson that has been disabled.

To disable a lesson, click Disable Lesson next to the lesson you want to disable.

When you disable a lesson, the Status column displays a red X mark to show the lesson's status.

To enable a lesson, click Enable Lesson next to the lesson you want to enable.

    To enable a lesson:
  1. Click Lessons. The Lessons page appears.
  2. Click Enable Lesson next to the lesson you want to enable. A green check mark appears in the Status column.
    To disable a lesson:
  1. Click Lessons. The Lessons page appears.
  2. Click Disable Lesson next to the lesson you want to disable. A red X mark appears in the Status column.


Creating New Lessons
Using the Group Admin, you can create new lessons for your students.
    To create a new lesson:
  1. Click Lessons. The Lessons page appears.
  2. Click Create New Lesson at the top of the page. The Create New Lesson page appears.
  3. Enter Lesson Title, Description, and select the Course it should appear under.
  4. Create the Introduction text. This appears when the lesson is first begun.
  5. Add exercises. To add more exercises, click the Add Another Exercise button. To remove exercise, click the Remove button, found on the last exercise.
  6. Create the Congratulations text. This is displayed when the lesson is completed.
  7. Click the Save Lesson button.

There are some important points to remember when building lessons.

  • Beginner Lessons display the on-screen keyboard and hand diagram while typing. You must limit exercise to 4 lines or the keyboard and hand diagram will be hidden.
  • Characters with accents may not be supported depending on your keyboard set up. Be sure to test your lesson.
  • An exercise can have up to 8 lines, with 60 characters per line. The Group Admin will automatically adjust your exercises to meet these requirements.
