Several options are available to modify
your typing experience to suit your needs.
Show Hidden Characters
Select this option and the hidden characters will be displayed
while you type. ¶ will be placed at the end of lines where you
must hit enter and '·' (raised dot) replaces spaces. This can
visually aid you when typing.
Play Sounds
Check this box and TypingWeb will generate typewriter sounds as
you practice typing. Note: Internet Explorer only. Some slower
computers may have problems with this feature.
Small Font
This option is only for those people who have their font settings higher than normal, causing
exercises to be cut off. Do not use this option if you are not
experiencing this problem.
Allow Backspace Key
If you would like to delete errors with your Backspace key,
enable this option. Deleting errors is optional, as it will not
help your accuracy score.
Exercise Quick-Advance (SPACE/ENTER)
After completing an exercise you may either click the "Continue" prompt
that appears, or hit SPACE or ENTER. If you do not want this
ability, uncheck this box.
Show Problem Keys
TypingWeb tracks the keys that give you the most problem while
you type. If you do not wish to display this information (shown
as underlined letters) uncheck this box.
Clear Problem Keys
As you progress in your typing lessons you may want to clear your
stored Problem Keys.
Keyboard Layout
TypingWeb contains helpful on-screen keyboards in Beginner
Lessons and the Keys Section. By selecting your keyboard layout
you ensure that TypingWeb teaches you proper typing technique and
finger placement.
Spaces Between Sentences
Choose how many spaces you wish to have after an end of line
punctuation, and before the next sentence begins. Single spacing
is suggested.

You may report your typing score as Words per Minute (standard scoring) or Characters per Minute.
